Despus de dedicarse a distintos trabajos, Consuelo Armijo NavarroReverter decidi dedicarse por entero a la literatura y encauz todas sus fuerzas e intereses hacia la escritura. Sus primeros libros fueron publicados en revistas como Bazar o La ballena alegre. Ha recibido los tres premios ms importantes de literatura infantil que hay en nuestro pas. En 1974 recibi el Premio Lazarillo por Los batautos, obra ganadora tambin del Premio CCEI 1976. Los batautos son unos seres verdes, con orejas al principio de la cabeza y pies al final del cuerpo. Viven en muchos sitios, entre ellos el bosque... Estos seres han generado toda una serie de ttulos donde poder seguir disfrutando de sus aventuras. Tambin recibi el premio El Barco de Vapor en su primera convocatoria, otorgado por la Fundacin SM, en 1978, por su libro El Pampinoplas, y el CCEI de nuevo en 1982, con Aniceto, el vencecanguelos. Consuelo Armijo falleci de forma inesperada el 22 de junio de 2011 en su ciudad natal.
