El presente trabajo intenta identificar alternativas viales al trazado original de la Autopista LujnMercedes debido a la problemtica originada por la incompatibilidad en los usos de suelo en el rea de estudio comprendida entre la localidad de Juregui y la Ruta Nacional N 7 (Ex Gaona), Partido de Lujn. La aplicacin de una modelizacin espacial considerando distintas superficies de friccin en un espacio relativo permite obtener diferentes alternativas de trazado. En este sentido es posible predecir sucesos y evaluar efectos, de manera que el proceso de toma de decisin implica un apoyo cientfico que apunta a aminorar la incertidumbre. En la presente investigacin los Sistemas de Informacin Geogrfica se convierten en un tecnologa central para obtener soluciones a esta problemtica, particularmente mediante el uso de la tcnicas de Evaluacin Multicriterio (EMC), las cuales presentan importante aptitud en el interior de las metodologas de Modelado Cartogrfico. Tres alternativas obtenidas brindan la propuesta final para la realizacin del tramo de la autopista con el objetivo de generar la menor cantidad de efectos negativos en su entorno socioambiental.
