El transporte de pasajeros en reas urbanas es un problema importante para nuestra sociedad actual. Se ha demostrado empricamente que se debe planificar el transporte de pasajeros para intentar paliar los efectos concomitantes que produce la operacin del sistema de transporte. En esta tesis se estudia la demanda del transporte de pasajeros en los dos principales corredores de Gran Canaria (Espaa) con un doble objetivo. Por un lado, poder valorar las distintas caractersticas de los modos de transporte y obtener disposiciones a pagar y por otro, predecir la demanda futura de diferentes medidas de poltica. Para ello, se utilizaron modelos desagregados de demanda y dos fuentes de informacin. Con los datos de preferencias reveladas obtenemos informacin sobre las elecciones individuales. Con las preferencias declaradas, la informacin est referida a lo que los individuos haran ante situaciones hipotticas. La ventaja fundamental, que presentan los mtodos de estimacin con datos mixtos, es combinar la informacin sobre elecciones efectivas con datos sobre preferencias eventuales para predecir la demanda de nuevos servicios de transporte o variaciones del servicio actual.
