Anthropology of Childhood and Youth: International and Historical Perspectives is a sweeping study of childhood across time and space. Geoffrey Vitale, while being attentive to scholarly discussions about the historicity of categories of childhood and youth, manages to provide a comprehensive look at how notions of childhood have transformed childrens lives from premodern times through our own contemporary moment. The volume will be indispensable to any course on the history of global childhood.

I was hoping for more practical applications, but the book leaned heavily on theoretical aspects. While the historical context is interesting, I found it a bit dense and hard to get through. It might appeal to academics, but not so much for casual readers like me.

Good Content, but Delivery Issues
I enjoyed the insights presented in this book, but the delivery took longer than expected. I had to contact support to track my order. The book itself is thoughtful and provides different viewpoints, which I appreciate, but the wait was frustrating!

Insightful Read for Educators
As a teacher, I've found "Anthropology of Childhood and Youth" to be a treasure. The international and historical perspectives really broadened my understanding of child development across cultures. It's well-researched and a great resource for anyone working with kids or in education!
