Twenty years ago, the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) joined forces to develop the highly regarded Advanced Pediatric Life Support program, or APLS. The Fifth Edition of APLS: The Pediatric Emergency Medicine Resource represents a comprehensive body of knowledge in pediatric emergency medicine. APLS offers emergency physicians, pediatricians, nurses, paramedics, and other allied health professionals the advanced knowledge and skills necessary to assess and manage critically ill or injured children during the first hours in the emergency department or officebased setting. Developed by expert authors, editors, and faculty from both the AAP and ACEP, APLS is an inclusive teaching and learning system for healthcare providers. Each chapter is case based and covers the key elements of assessment, diagnosis, testing, treatment, and disposition. Includes Online Access Code: Beyond the 13 core textbook chapters, APLS also includes 12 supplemental chapters and educational modules at www.APLSonline.com, accessed with a code inside the book. New Features of the APLS, Fifth Edition: Meets 2010 CPR and ECC Guidelines Enhanced case scenarios Improved fullcolor photographs and illustrations Focused officebased setting emergencies Educational modules found at www.APLSonline.com If you are a healthcare provider who wants the newest, most flexible, and comprehensive reference on pediatric emergency medicine, the Fifth Edition will meet and exceed your needs.

As a pediatric nurse, I find this resource invaluable. The depth of information in this Pediatric Emergency Medicine book is impressive, covering everything from common ailments to critical emergencies. It’s well-organized and easy to navigate, making it a must-have for any pediatric professional.

Perfect for Medical Students
I bought this Pediatric Emergency Medicine resource for my daughter, who's in med school. She says it’s really helpful for her studies, especially in her pediatric rotations. The layout is easy to understand, and the illustrations are fantastic!

Great Reference, But Lacks Some Updates
This book is a solid reference for pediatric emergencies, but I noticed some sections could use a refresh with the latest guidelines. The information is still mostly relevant, but I’d love to see a newer edition come out soon. It's still a good buy if you need a quick guide.

Could Use More Case Studies
While the content is comprehensive and detailed, I feel like more real-life case studies would make this Pediatric Emergency Medicine resource even better. It has the basics covered, but more practical examples would help us apply the knowledge better.

Not What I Expected
I was a bit disappointed with this book. It arrived with some wear on the cover and I was hoping for a more hands-on approach to pediatric emergencies. The information is good, but I expected more practical advice. Not sure I'd recommend it for those just starting out in the field.
