The official guide to the 107 miles of the Appalachian Trail that bisect Shenandoah National Park (the route of Skyline Drive, renowned for fall drives, was the original route of the A.T.). This book includes background information and trailroute descriptions for the A.T., as well as descriptions for about 400 miles of popular side trails in the park, which are located roughly between Front Royal and Waynesboro, Va., about one hour from Washington, D.C. The detached sixcolor maps are scaled at 1:63,360 with 100foot contour intervals and elevation profiles. This guide is published by the Potomac Appalachian Trail Club in Vienna, Virginia, and distributed by the national Appalachian Trail Conservancy.
