Su inters por la investigacin en torno a la cortesa lingstica y su relacin con la pragmtica y la interpretacin de conferencias surgi principalmente por stas experiencias, por su actividad en el terreno de la didctica del espaol y alemn como lengua extranjera, as como por una constante que le acompa durante toda su vida: la mediacin lingstica y cultural entre estas lenguas y culturas desde temprana edad.
