Eine weitere denkbare Erklrung wre grere Resistenz der lteren Arbeitnehmer gegen ber Belastungen. Gegen eine solche Erklrung sprechen allerdings nicht nur unsere Daten, die es unwahrscheinlich erscheinen lassen, da die Sensibilitt bis zum Alter von etwa 50 ansteigt und dann wieder geringer wird, sondern auch die zitierten arbeitswissenschaftlichen Erfahrungen, die dafr sprechen, da eine Tendenz besteht, ltere Arbeitnehmer auf eher weniger belastete Arbeitspltze zu versetzen. Wir halten also die Erklrung eines Selektionsef fektes fr die wahrscheinlichere. Der Zusammenhang zwischen chronischen Erkrankungen und beruflichen Belastungen ist deutlich erkennbar. Befragte mit einer hheren Anzahl an perzipierten beruflichen Belastungen haben eine hhere Anzahl chronischer Erkrankungen als solche mit einer niedrigen Anzahl beruflicher Belastungen.
