Eine betriebswirtschaftliche Zielsetzung ist, durch die Flexibilisierung der Arbeitszeit eine bessere Auslastung der Betriebszeiten zu gewhrleisten, da flexible Arbeitszeiten dazu dienen knnen die Betriebsanlagen je nach Arbeitsanfall zu nutzen. Zu diesem Punkt zhlt auch die Mglichkeit temporre Schwankungen im Arbeitskrftebedarf durch Ausbau der Betriebszeit aufzufangen. Ein weiteres Ziel ist der sozialpolitische Wunsch der Arbeitnehmer nach einer ihren auerberuflichen Bedrfnissen angepassten Arbeitszeit. Da eine Vielzahl an unterschiedlichen, mehr oder weniger flexiblen Arbeitszeitmodellen in den Betrieben geschaffen wurde, konzentriert sich diese Arbeit auf einige wenige. Es werden Konzepte prsentiert, die fr die Arbeitgeber wie auch fr den einzelnen Arbeitnehmer eine gewisse Zeitsouvernitt bieten. Dabei ffnen sich fr beide Vertragsparteien groe Spielrume sowohl hinsichtlich der Lage als auch der Dauer der Arbeitszeit. Bei diesen Modellen werden neben den rechtlichen Grundlagen auch die Vor und Nachteile fr Arbeitgeber und Arbeitnehmer dargestellt und in einer abschlieenden Bewertung gegeneinander abgewogen.
