A doctor in anthropology and an experienced designer of quilting patterns, Joyce Mori combines these two passions to transform interesting objects into patterns for your original quilts. The motifs are inspired by a fascinating array of sources from 20,000 BC to the twentieth century, such as an Egyptian mummy case, marble floors of Venetian churches, Native American stamped pottery, a dyed moose hair design on Canadian moccasins, a South Carolina wrought iron railing, an Eskimo wood mask, and Australian aboriginal art. A few continuousline designs have been included for longarm machine quilters. Some designs can be adapted to redworktype embroidery and hand or machine applique. Some can even be scanned into your computer, then converted to machine embroidery motifs.
