The Second Edition of this concise guide includes a new chapter on cultural variables in the DSMIV. All other chapters have been updated. The author summarizes current literature on crosscultural mental health and provides helpful clinical suggestions for practitioners with a multicultural clientele. Among the topics explored are: cultural variables which may affect assessment and treatment across groups; epidemiological mental health data across groups; application of data from culturespecific, biased measures; and factors to consider during delivery of treatment.

This guide on assessing and treating culturally diverse clients is super helpful. Each chapter breaks down complex topics into manageable sections that are easy to understand. It's been a go-to resource for my studies, and I can't imagine my courses without it.

Good info, but a bit dense
I like the practical approach of this book, especially the multicultural aspects discussed. However, some sections felt a bit too packed with info, and I had to reread them to fully grasp the concepts. Still, a solid resource for anyone in counseling.

Practical insights on diversity in counseling
I really appreciate how this guide addresses the nuances of working with clients from various backgrounds. The multicultural framework has enhanced my practice, and the case studies are particularly enlightening. A fantastic resource for professionals!

Helpful, but not for beginners
The content is well-researched and very insightful, but I think it's more suited for those already familiar with counseling principles. As a beginner, I found some parts confusing without prior knowledge. Definitely valuable, just not the easiest start!
