Many occasions evidenced the fact that people face different psychosocial adjustment challenges during their early arrival to a new environment. This may result from the psychological discomfort people experience. Besides this, the differences between place of origin and destination in some social and cultural aspects, including the inevitable difference in weather condition imposes burden upon the newcomers wellbeing. Thus, the assumption of this study is that the resettlers of the Sasiga resettlement site are likely susceptible to psychosocial adjustment problems (specifically to mental distress and some relationship problems). This research was thus conducted to examine the level of psychosocial adjustment problems experienced by the resettlers of the Sasiga resettlement site. The result of the study clearly revealed greater level of mental distress problems in the resettlers than in the host community. Taking resettlement as a variable to compare level of mental distress of the two groups of the study the researcher came up with significant difference. That means the resettlers manifest more symptoms of mental distress compared to their host counterparts.
