Dabei werden erwartete Effekte ebenso wie bereits realisierte Ereignisse beleuchtet. Als Ursprung der Krise wird die USImmobilienkrise in Verbindung mit dem USSubprimeMarkt identifiziert. Die Wirkung der Krise, mit ihrem Ursprung in den USA, wird dabei durch eingesetzte Asset Backed Securities (ABS) und Asset Backed Commercial Papers (ABCP) auch auf den deutschen Kapitalmarkt transferiert.Beginnend werden in dieser Arbeit die Grundprinzipien der Verbriefung sowie verschiedene Arten der ABS vorgestellt. Im Folgenden konzentriert sich die Arbeit auf Mortgage Backed Securities, da diese durch die Ergebnisse der USImmobilienkrise direkt betroffen sind und durch sie die Resultate der Subprimekrise auch auf den deutschen Kapitalmarkt transferiert werden. Dabei wird insbesondere auf die Grundlagen der Immobilienfinanzierung in Deutschland sowie den USA Bezug genommen. Indirekte Folgen durch Vertrauensverlust und daraus resultierende Liquidittsengpsse am USamerikanischen und deutschen Kapitalmarkt werden ebenfalls kurz aufgegriffen. Um ein abgerundetes Bild darstellen zu knnen, werden zustzlich Conduit und Structured Investment Vehicle Operationen sowie ABCP und damit verbundene Risiken betrachtet. Zum grundlegenden Verstndnis werden wichtige Entwicklungen am USImmobilienmarkt und deren Effekte betrachtet.
