Ata is a philosophy deeply grounded in traditional Maori knowledge. This philosophy is all about reseactfull interrelational practices and has been applied in social services in new Zealand. This book is the result of a Master of Education study which considered adapting the philosophy of Ata into an education context. The research carried out looked at the results of applying the philosophy of Ata as a theory of best practice in teaching on a teacher education program. The results were very conclusive and herald a new approach to how we interact with our learners.
