This remarkable reprint, originally published just after World War II, contains two first hand accounts about Mauthausen concentration camp, Austria where over 100,000 people were killed. The first account is by Franz Zieres who narrates his experiences as commandant of Mauthausen. The second is by CharlesHeinz Pilarski, a soldier in the German army who was courtmarshalled and imprisoned in the camp. These memoirs, along with photographs taken upon the liberation of the camp, are a vivid record of the Final Solution.
