Durch die zunehmende Individualisierung in unserer Gesellschaft werden ltere Menschen immer hufiger aus ihren traditionellen sozialen Bezgen und Versorgungssystemen wie Nachbarschaft und Familie herausgelst. Projekte zur alternativen Gestaltung des Lebensabends gewinnen deshalb fr viele an Attraktivitt. Das Modellprojekt wird in diesem Kontext vernderter Bedingungen des Alterns beschrieben. In dem Wohnmodell leben acht ltere Frauen in einer Hausgemeinschaft. Sie wollen ihr Alter in Gemeinschaft verbringen und haben sich zur gegenseitigen Hilfe verpflichtet. Im Unterschied zu hnlichen Projekten kannten sie sich schon lange vorher aus einem Erwachsenenbildungsprogramm und haben darauf aufbauend dieses Wohnprojekt nach ihren Vorstellungen verwirklicht. Das Buch beschreibt, welche Voraussetzungen die Frauenmitgebracht haben, um diesen neuen Weg zu gehen, welche Hrden sie nehmen muten, und welche Hilfe sie in Anspruch genommen haben. Es dokumentiert die Erfahrungen, die die Frauen whrend der verschiedenen Projektphasen gesammelt haben, und kann als Leitfaden fr neue Projekte dienen.
