Product Description Das Buch behandelt die philosophischen und religisen Ansichten einiger Wiener Freimaurer am Ende des 18. Jahrhunderts. Der Einflu des Gedankengutes des Illuminatenordens auf die Ideen der Wiener Freimaurer sowie der Einflu des Neoplatonismus und der Aufklrung werden dabei eingehend errtert. Die freimaurerische Heilserwartung wird, ausgehend von der These Carl L. Beckers, im Proze der Skularisation als eine Zwischenform beschrieben. Sie ist von christlichen Begriffen geprgt, hat diese aber bereits skularisiert. Darber hinaus werden das Verhltnis zwischen diesen Auffassungen und der Politik des Kaisers Joseph II. sowie der Richtungsstreit innerhalb der Freimaurerei in der Darstellung bercksichtigt About the Author Der Autor: Wilgert te Lindert studierte Geschichte an der Rijksuniversiteit Leiden (Niederlande) und promovierte dort 1995 mit dem vorliegenden Buch. Er arbeitet als Lehrer und Journalist in den Niederlanden und ist Mitarbeiter des Forschungsprojektes Die Geschichte der sterreichischen Freimaurerei 19181945 unter der Leitung von Professor Helmut Reinalter (Innsbruck).
