Die Herausforderung lag vor allem in der schlergetreuen Darstellung, wodurch diese Arbeit auch literarischen Anspruch haben musste. Aufgrund dieser speziellen Darstellungsform wurde eine Form gewhlt, in der die Funoten nicht am Seitenende, sondern als Anmerkungen im Anhang wiedergegeben werden. Dargestellt wird sowohl der Weg des Caesarerben zur Alleinherrschaft als auch die Besonderheiten seiner Regierungszeit in Innen und Auenpolitk bis zu seinem Tod. Dabei ist von einer aurea aetas die Rede. Ein persnlicher Schwerpunkt liegt im Bereich der augusteischen Literatur.
