The fourth edition of Autism Spectrum Disorders: Identification, Education, and Treatment continues the mission of its predecessors: to present a comprehensive, readable, and uptodate overview of the field of autism; one that links research, theory, and practice in ways that are accessible to students, practitioners, and parents. During the last decade, autism spectrum disorders (ASD) have emerged as the fastest growing developmental disability, and, in response to the dramatic increase in diagnoses, diagnostic criteria in the newly published DSM5 are significantly different than they were in the DSM IVR.The structure, content, and format of Autism Spectrum Disorders, 4th Edition have been revised to accommodate changes in the field and to illuminate the current state of the art in the study of autism. New information on early identification, transition education from adolescence through to adulthood, neurobiological research, and technologybased solutions is included.

I bought this for my sister who has a child with ASD. She says it’s a solid reference guide, full of good strategies for everyday situations. The only downside was that it took longer to arrive than expected, but it was worth the wait!

Great resource for understanding ASD
As a teacher, I found this book incredibly helpful for understanding autism spectrum disorders. The insights it provides are practical and easy to apply in the classroom. If you work with kids on the spectrum, this is a must-have!

Not what I expected
I thought this book would be more of a support guide, but it's very academic. I struggled to connect with it. Maybe it’s better suited for professionals rather than parents looking for practical advice. Disappointed with my purchase!

Helpful but a bit dense
This book covers a lot of ground regarding autism spectrum disorders, but I found some sections a bit dense and challenging to get through. It’s packed with useful info, but I wish it was a bit more accessible in terms of writing style. Still, worth the read!

Eye-opening and informative
This was a great find for someone like me who's new to understanding autism spectrum disorders. The chapters are well-organized, and it discusses various strategies that I can apply right away. Really eye-opening!
