Uns aus dem Mittelalter berlieferte Texte hingegen sind meist autorlos. Dies kann verschiedene Grnde haben, auf die in dieser Arbeit noch eingegangen werden soll. Die neue Diskussion um Autor und Autorschaft entwertet diese Gre des Autors und entwirft ein neues Konstrukt von Autorschaft. Fr die Medivistik bedeutet dies eine enorme Aufwertung' ihrer anonym berlieferten Texte, da nun auch diese als vollwertig anerkannt und mit Hilfe anderer Interpretationsverfahren analysiert werden knnen. Im ersten Teil dieser Arbeit soll nach einer Einfhrung in die Problematik dieses Themas und dessen Begrifflichkeit (2.1) analysiert werden, welchen Stellenwert die berlieferungsgeschichte einzelner Texte einnimmt und wer an der Entstehung von mittelalterlichen Texten beteiligt ist (2.2), wann und warum Texte anonym oder mit Autornennung berliefert werden (2.3 und 2.4) und welches Verhltnis zwischen Autor und Erzhler auszumachen ist (2.5). Der zweite Teil der Arbeit stellt berlegungen zum Heldenepos Herzog Ernst an. Zuerst soll das Werk in das Themenfeld Autor und Autorschaft eingeordnet werden (3.1). Im Weiteren soll anhand der berlieferungsgeschichte aufgezeigt werden, wie schwer und aussichtslos es ist, einen Autor im heutigen Wortsinn ausfindig machen zu knnen (3.2). Anschlieend soll die Rolle des Erzhlers untersucht werden, um zu analysieren, welchen Stellenwert dieser im Herzog Ernst einnimmt und welche Konsequenzen dies fr das Konzept der Autorschaft im Mittelalter haben kann (3.3).
