Product Description Das seit Februar 2001 regierende und im September 2006 mit dem Coup d'tat des thailndischen Militrs gestrzte Regime des Premiermisters Thaksin Shinawatras gehrt bis heute ohne Zweifel nicht nur zu den umstrittensten Regierungsperioden in der Geschichte der thailndischen Demokratie, sondern markiert auch einen radikalen Bruch mit der bisherigen Auswrtigen Politik Thailands. Der von 2001 bis 2006 vollzogene, tief greifende Wandel der thailndischen Gesellschaft im Nachgang der asiatischen Finanzkrise erstreckte sich ebenso konsequent auf den Bereich der Auenpolitik. In ihm kommt eine grundlegende Vernderung der internationalen Orientierung des Landes zum Ausdruck, welche die Handlungsorientierung der politischen Akteure einschliet und unter anderem die bestimmende Grundlage fr Konfliktlinien der bis heute andauernden politischen Krise vorgibt. So lassen sich fr diese Regierungsperiode entscheidende Neuausrichtungen in Zielsetzung und Formulierung der thailndischen Auenpolitik feststellen. Diese korrelierte mit einer praktisch vollstndigen Reorganisation der personellen und strukturellen Organisation des Auenministeriums bzw. auenpolitischer Entscheidungsprozesse. Das Erkenntnis leitende Interesse dieser Untersuchung konzentriert sich auf die Konstitution des auenpolitischen Wandels Thailands im Kontext der Regierungsperiode Thaksin Shinawatras und versucht, die dahinter stehenden Bestimmungsfaktoren der Neuorientierung sowie ihrer Wirkungsweise mit Hilfe eines sozialkonstruktivistischen Analyserahmens zu erkennen. In diesem Kontext soll die vorliegende Studie die Oszillation der thailndischen Auenpolitik zwischen den unterschiedlichen Polen analysieren, welche seit Beginn der Regierungszeit Thaksin Shinawatras die politische und gesellschaftliche Diskussion dominiert. Zu seinen Studien und Arbeitsschwerpunkten gehrten die Internationale Entwicklungszusammenarbeit, Global Governance und Menschliche Sicherheit im Kontext der Vereinten Nationen. Er verfgt ber umfassende Regionalexpertise in Sdostasien und kann auf Berufserfahrung in unterschiedlichen Organisationen der Internationalen Entwicklungszusammenarbeit zurckblicken.
