Pltzlich finden sie sich auf einer Intensivstation wieder. In rasanter Eile wird mit medizinischen Interventionen zur Behandlung der Vitalbedrohung und zur Linderung der Beschwerden begonnen. Heftige AnginaPectorisSchmerzen, verbunden mit dem Gefhl des einschnrenden Herzens, einer Enge im Brustkorb und einer daraus resultierenden Angst um Leib und Leben, bestimmen das Erleben vieler Patienten. Die Erkrankung des Herzens und die daraus entstehende und empfundene Bedrohung kann jedoch auf verschiedene Weise von den Erkrankten erfahren werden. Dieses AngstSchmerzSyndrom steht nicht immer im Vordergrund. Trotzdem konzentrieren sich medizinische und pflegerische Behandlungsmanahmen und Medikamente auf die Herzangst des Patienten. Meine Erfahrung als Pflegekraft auf einer Intensivstation hat verdeutlicht, dass das emotionale Befinden der Patienten und die ngste in dieser Zeit recht unterschiedlich sein knnen. Dies wird in der Welt des Messens' an den Monitoren jedoch nicht angezeigt. Die Welt, in der wir leben, ist nicht die Welt, die wir messen' (Schmitz zit. n. Siebolds 1997, S. 11). Das Ziel dieser Diplomarbeit ist, das emotionale Befinden und vor allem das, worum die Patienten mit akutem Herzinfarkt in den Tagen der berwachung auf der Intensivstation ngstlich bangen, in Erfahrung zu bringen. Das Herz ist nicht nur Sitz des Lebens, sondern auch der Gefhle. Durch eine empirische Untersuchung soll die Wirklichkeit der Patienten systematisch betrachtet und verstanden werden. Dazu wird eine qualitative Forschungsmethode gewhlt, die Erzhlungen von Betroffenen in den Vordergrund stellt.
