Seit Jahrhunderten werden Menschen gepflegt, sei es von Familienangehrigen oder professionell. Die Untersttzung der Pflegekraft, die eine Beziehung mit dem Kranken aufbaut und ihm dabei hilft zu genesen ist wichtig. Besonders in den USA begann man frhzeitig theoretische Grundlagen der Pflege zu untersuchen und zu professionalisieren. In meiner Hausarbeit mchte ich mich mit zwei Pflegetheoretikerinnen aus den USA auseinandersetzen, die grundlegende Meilensteine fr die Theorie der Krankenpflege gesetzt haben. Ich werde auf die Theorie und den historischen Hintergrund der Bedrfnistheoretikerin Virginia Henderson und der Interaktionstheoretikerin Hildegard Peplau eingehen (Klassifikation nach Meleis 1999, S.302) Anschlieend werde ich mich mit den verschiedenen Aussagen ber die Metaparadigmen auseinandersetzen, die Theorie in der Ausbildung darstellen und wichtige Kritikpunkte beider Theorien hervorheben. Beide Theoretikerinnen sind Pioniere der Pflegetheorie. Sie haben sich als eine der Ersten mit den Fragen. Was ist Pflege? und Wie wird gepflegt? auseinandergesetzt. Beide nhern sich von unterschiedlichen Ausgangspunkten dem Phnomen Pflege und gelangen durch die verbundene Schwerpunktsetzung zu unterschiedlichen Modellen. Ich habe sie ausgewhlt um verschiedenen Anstze der Pflegetheorie zu untersuchen und um die verschiedenen Sichtweisen zu betrachten..
