He does manage to gather enough courage to follow at a distance, but immediately fulfills Jesus prediction by denying he ever knew the man. He is burdened with his grief and great sense of guilt. Many stories of how Jesus touched and changed lives are shared as the night before the first day of the week slowly gives way to morning. The combinations of unlikely partners in grief makes the night memorable. Hope replaces grief and joy replaces sorrow.
