Ein Schadensfeuer umfasst mehrere Brandphasen von der Entzndung, der Ausbreitung bis zum Vollbrand und dem Ausbrand. Besonders in der Anfangsphase eines Brandes kann durch gezielte Manahmen die Entwicklung zu einem Vollbrand verhindert oder zumindest die Zeitspanne bis zur Vollbrandphase verlngert werden. Fr brandschutztechnische Berechnungen in Gebuden ist es daher von groem Interesse diese Brandentwicklung mglichst genau zu kennen. Die vorliegende Arbeit beschftigt sich mit der Anfangsphase eines Brandes. In dieser Phase erfolgt die Entzndung eines Brandes und die Ausbreitung ber die Zndflche hinaus d.h. hier handelt sich um sehr kleine Brnde mit sehr kleinen Brandflchen und geringen Leistungen. Beispielhaft wird die Entzndung und Brandausbreitung an kleinen Proben von Filterpapier aus Zellulose und PMMA bei unterschiedlicher Lage der Oberflche (horizontal, vertikal, geneigt) untersucht. Die mittels Experimenten, nherungsweisen Berechnungen und Brandsimulationen mit dem CFDModell FDS 5 gewonnenen Erkenntnisse werden untereinander verglichen und deren Anwendbarkeit zur Vorhersagbarkeit der Brandentwicklung beurteilt.
