Benedict Blathwayt's detailed and intricate artwork follows a day in a town. Early in the morning people are getting ready to start their day. In the market, traders are ready for the day ahead. The streets are busy with lorries, buses and bikes. At the docks and building sites people are hard at work. By the afternoon the park is a quiet place to rest. When school finishes it's time to go home again. Special words and vignettes pick out features in each scene and give children, aged 5 plus, a first introduction to using a beautiful picture book to extract information. Benedict Blathwayt has sold over a million copies of his 'Bramble' books and his children's illustrations are known internationally.
