The overview of publications dedicated to formation, accumulation and migration of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in soils, methods of extraction were presented in the monography. The subcritical water extraction method of benz(a)pyrene from soil was developed and tested. The advantages of this method compared with standard methods of determining benz(a)pyrene in soil were shown.
