Spter verschlug es mich an die ostfriesische Nordseekste, wo ich weitere Jahre meiner Kinder und Jugendzeit verlebte. Geprgt durch die rauhen Kstenlandschaften, entwickelte sich in mir die Liebe zu diesen Landstrichen und zu den Menschen, die dort leben. Und so spielen sich AnnaMeta, Land unter dem Wind und Der Fremde von Hallig Rge in diesen Landschaftsrumen ab. hnlich gelagert: Das autobiographische Sachbuch Ostfriesische Geschichten, das vom Schicksal der Flchtlinge aus dem Osten in Ostfriesland erzhlt. Lesungen, Recherchen und acht Enkel bringen eine erhebliche Unruhe in mein Leben. Die Lngste Zeit meines Lebens habe ich nun im Rheinland zugebracht. Zeit, an die grte Seuche des Zwanzigsten Jahrhunderts zu erinnern.
