The Dutch settlement of Bergen in New Jersey was the first permanent one in that state, and it probably included the entire area now composed of Jersey City, Hoboken, and Bayonne in Hudson County. Bergen Records is a onevolume consolidation of the printed records of the Dutch Church of Bergen, now Jersey City, and is composed of three main parts: baptisms, marriages, and burials. Also included in this authoritative work are histories of early New Jersey Dutch families and a history of Bergen.
