Bertrand Russell gilt als einer der Urvter der analytischen Philosophie speziell seine Arbeiten der ersten beiden Dekaden des 20. Jahrhunderts waren fr die Entwicklung dieser philosophischen Disziplin von kaum zu berschtzender Bedeutung. In dieser Periode entwickelte Russell zunchst den Logizismus als Philosophie der Mathematik und dann, etwa ab 1911, den primr epistemologisch orientierten Logischen Atomismus. Die vorliegende Untersuchung nimmt ihren Ausgang bei Russells Logizismus, wobei seine berlegungen zu Relationen und zum Idealismus, die logische Konstruktion der Kardinalzahlen, die Kennzeichnungstheorie, die KeineMengenTheorie und die Typentheorie im Vordergrund stehen. Danach wird ein umfassendes Bild des Logischen Atomismus gezeichnet und durch das Aufzeigen diverser Parallelen verdeutlicht, da dieses philosophische System in weiten Teilen durch Russells Arbeiten in der Philosophie der Mathematik bestimmt ist und auf dessen metaphysischen Implikationen basiert. Die Zusammenfhrung der beiden Systeme erffnet interessante Einsichten in Russells Ontologie und zeigt, da die klassische Interpretation des Logischen Atomismus als rein erkenntnistheoretische Theorie zu eng ist.
