Durch das Wegfallen bedeutender Trennlinien zwischen zwei zuvor auch ideologisch getrennten Systemen und den starken Divergenzen in der wirtschaftlichen Entwicklung verstrkten sich bestehende und entwickelten sich neue Migrationsprozesse mit der groben Verlaufsrichtung von Ost nach West bzw. mit Ziellndern innerhalb der Europischen Union. Diese bis in die Gegenwart anhaltenden Prozesse werden zudem noch durch eine zunehmende SdNordMigration in das Gebiet der EU verstrkt. Anhand des Beispiels der Republik Griechenland lassen sich diese Prozesse deutlich erkennen, da das Land durch seine Lage im uersten Sdosten der EU besonders betroffen ist. In dieser Arbeit sollen die Folgen von Migration und Zuwanderungspolitik fr Griechenland betrachtet werden. In Punkt 2 soll dazu zunchst die Bevlkerungsentwicklung in Griechenland seit den 1990er Jahren dargestellt werden. In Abgrenzung zueinander sollen die vorherrschenden Prozesse der natrlichen sowie der Bevlkerungsbewegung durch Wanderungen in Griechenland analysiert werden und etwaige zuknftige Entwicklungen skizziert werden. Dabei soll der Fragestellung nachgegangen werden, ob die natrliche Bevlkerungsbewegung auf lngere Sicht eine Erneuerung bzw. den Erhalt der griechischen Bevlkerung gewhrleisten kann und welche Rolle die Migration in den vergangenen 20 Jahren spielte und in Zukunft spielen wird.
