Until Now, Skill Development Missions Have Largely Been Government-Run, Lacking The Desired Link To Market Demand.Special Efforts Are Needed To Align Skills With Demand, Giving Employers And Enterprises A Significant Role In Designing And Implementing Vocational Training Programs Tailored To Market Needs. This Should Also Include The Management Of Industrial Training Institutes (Itis) And The Development Of Faculty. A Framework Needs To Be Developed To Encourage Private Investment In Vocational Training Through Public Private Partnerships (Ppps).To Mobilize The Required Investment, State-Of-The-Art Itis Need To Be Established. Setting Up, Establishing Competence In Operation And Management And Recruitment After Training Should Ideally Be The Primary Responsibilities Of Private Sector Units, While The Government Should Focus On Creating The Required Infrastructure For Proper Functioning Of All These And Providing Financial Support To Scs, Sts, Minorities, Disabled And Other Backward Classes Of The Society.
