Asset Backed Security (ABS) bezeichnet eine Anleihe, die durch einen Pool definierter Aktiva'1 gesichert ist. Durch die Asset Backed Securities erhalten Banken die Mglichkeit Forderungen aus ausgegebenen Krediten zu verbriefen, damit eine Bilanzentlastung und Eigenkapitalenlastung eintritt.2 Kreditinstituten bieten sich somit innerhalb des Kreditrisikomanagements und des Bilanzstrukturmanagements neue Perspektiven.3 Bilanzielle Effekte innerhalb der Vermgens , Ertrags und der Liquidittslage knnen herbeigefhrt werden, die in den folgenden Ausfhrungen dargestellt werden. Zunchst geht es im zweiten Kapitel um die allgemeinen Aspekte, wie die ausfhrliche Definition, die Entwicklung und der Markt, die Anforderungen und die mglichen Vor und Nachteile der ABS. Im Hauptteil, dem dritten Kapitel, werden die beiden Formen des True Sale' und der synthetischen Verbriefung unterschieden und es werden die Auswirkungen auf die Vermgens , Ertrags und Liquidittslage und auf Bilanzkennziffern dargestellt. Im vierten Kapitel werden eine True Sale und eine synthetische Verbriefung beispielhaft anhand zweier durchgefhrter Transaktionen und der resultierende Effekt der Eigenkapitalentlastung gezeigt. Im fnften Kapitel folgt eine Zusammenfassung und ein Ausblick. Die bilanzielle Behandlung der True Sale Verbriefung wird nur nach den IFRS erlutert.
