With clear and balanced explanations of complex issues, this extensively documented set of case studies in biomedical ethics explores the important role played by history in thinking about modern medical practice and policy. This book provides student readers with uptodate information about issues in bioethics, as well as a guide to the most influential ethical standpoints. I found this book to be quite informative, though it can get a bit dense in certain areas. Some chapters are packed with details that require a lot of focus to digest fully. Overall, it’s a valuable resource for understanding bioethics, just be prepared for some heavy reading!

Not What I Expected
I was hoping for a more contemporary analysis, but this book leans heavily on historical perspectives. While it’s interesting, I felt it missed some key modern issues in bioethics. Also, the layout of the chapters made it hard to follow at times. Not my favorite read!
