Por diversas razones existe un nmero significativo de especies que se desplazan e introducen en grandes cantidades, la introduccin de nuevas especies muchas veces ha sido beneficiosa y en otros casos ha causado grandes errores con repercusiones socioeconmicas. En Bolivia una de las especies introducidas ha sido la trucha Arcoiris Oncorhynchus mykiss, el nico salmnido que ha logrado adaptarse con xito. Este estudio se desarroll en cinco lagunas de la Cordillera del Tunari, y presenta algunas de las principales caractersticas biolgicas de la Trucha Arcoiris adems de las necesidades que tiene para su desarrollo.
