After all, on the evening that she died she had called him on the telephone and had said goodbye to everyone there at his beach house. Then she dropped the telephone as a result of her loss of consciousness. Peter had run to her rescue before (just as he had with Judy Garland) when she pleased over the phone for him to come over. However, this time was different because she said goodbye. Goodbye sounded final. How could you be so unfeeling when that lovely girls life was at stake? I asked Peter when I finally managed to get though to him.
