First published as United States Geological Survey Bulletin 1991, this book provides a scholarly look at the factors and forces that created the Black Canyon of the Gunnison in Colorado. Numerous topographic drawings and diagrams, plus six color plates.

I was really looking forward to this book, but it arrived with a dent on the cover, which was disappointing. However, the content itself is fantastic; it dives deep into the history and geology of the Black Canyon. Just be careful with shipping, as it doesn’t seem very sturdy!

Informative but Not What I Expected
The book is definitely informative and has a lot of in-depth content about the Black Canyon, but I thought it would have more practical guides for visiting the area. It's more of a visual masterpiece than a travel guide. Still, I'm glad I bought it; just know it’s more for reading than hiking prep!

Stunning Visuals and Great Detail
I recently picked up the 'Black Canyon of the Gunnison In Depth' book and I am blown away by the stunning visuals! The color photos really capture the majesty of the canyon. Each section is packed with rich details, making it perfect for anyone interested in geology or photography. I'm using it as a coffee table book and it's been a hit with my guests!
