Introduction of new media technologies is becoming available and an instrumental tool for collecting and disseminating news and information to the public. Kenyan university students are now using these emerging technologies such as social networking sites as an avenue of publishing their stories online. The study therefore explores ways that blogging can be used as an avenue of disseminate news. The study delved into finding out if students are aware of blogging, the relationship between student level of computer literacy and their application of the knowledge into blogging, the challenges students go through while blogging and also to find out whether blogs can facilitate news exchange between students. The study will be very useful to university students studying both in their undergraduate and postgraduate programmes as well as lecturers will use it as a reference.
