Damit hat sich, so scheint es, der Vampir emanzipiert: vom Gegenstand alter Mythen und Legenden aus den entlegendsten Teilen vor allem Osteuropas bis hin zu einer literarischen Figur in phantastischen Romanen (allen voran ist hier natrlich Bram Stokers Dracula' zu nennen); ber eine beliebte Figur in Horrorfilmen bis hin zu einem festen Teil der heutigen Gesellschaft mit neuen, menschlicheren Rollendefinitionen.
