Anschaulich werden nach und nach nicht ohne Humor die Stationen ihrer Reise beschrieben. Dank eines israelischen Freundes bekommt sie ein Gespr fr das israelische Lebensgefhl. Sie beschreibt nicht nur Orte, Sehenswrdigkeiten und Gedenksttten, sondern auch ihre Gedanken, Empfindungen und ngste angesichts der tglich sprbaren Gefahr durch potenzielle Selbstmordattentter. In dem Kapitel Die Situation in Israel ist anders beschreibt die Autorin den von Selbstmordanschlgen bedrohten Alltag, den die Israelis mit viel Gelassenheit zu bewltigen scheinen. Die Urlaubsschilderungen schlieen ab mit einem Erlebnisbericht im Hotel und einem unliebsamen Besucher auf sechs Beinen und enden mit dem Rckflug nach Deutschland. Ergnzt wird der Reisebericht durch eine Vielzahl erklrender Funoten, Informationen und eigenen Fotos. Margot Winkler mchte mit ihrem Reisebericht dazu beitragen, dass Israel nicht nur im Schatten des Nahostkonfliktes wahrgenommen wird.
