The story had its moments, but I found the pacing a bit off in places. Inspector Shan's adventures are fascinating, but I felt some chapters dragged. Still, I enjoyed the cultural insights and will probably read the next one.

Engaging Mystery with Great Characters
I picked up 'Bones of the Earth' because I love a good mystery, and this book did not disappoint! The character development in Inspector Shan Tao Yun is fantastic, and the plot twists kept me guessing till the end. Definitely a must-read for mystery lovers!

Disappointed with the Ending
I was really excited for this installment, but I have to say I was let down by the conclusion. It felt rushed and left too many loose ends. Inspector Shan is a compelling character, but the plot just didn't deliver for me this time.
