This beautiful, mint, First Edition, HARDBACK, in a mint pictorial slipcover, New Cavendish Books, London, 1979, is fascinating! It is Robert Opie EXTRA. It has the history, provenance, dates and context of all the tins. The book size is 13.25 w x 10.5 h with a bibliography, an index and 215 pristine pages on heavy high quality paper. ( Postage is for 3 kilo. ) The cover is glossy sangdeboeuf with gilt to the front cover and the spine. My favourite is a marvellous coconut shy .... the ultimate in toy/biscuit tin, and again one wonders how they managed to get any biscuits in the tin, for within the box they had to fit the backboard the piece that holds the coconuts, the catapult piece, five wooden coconuts and a wooden ball! The lid and sides are paper covered and the backboard is printed card on a metal frame. Included is a beautiful cutout teapot bookmark from the Victoria and Albert Museum. ISBN 0904568113. A must for any collector and design student.
