Gale is a vice president and director of the Brookings Institution's Economic Studies program, where he holds the Arjay and Frances Fearing Miller Chair in Federal Economic Policy. Elmendorf is a senior fellow in the Economic Studies Program at the Brookings Institution. He previously served as a staff member at the Federal Reserve Board,Treasury Department, White House Council of Economic Advisers, and Congressional Budget Office, and he has taught at Harvard University.
