In deutschen Frakturtexten frherer Epochen heben sich einige Wrter auffllig vom Rest des Textes ab. Dabei handelt es sich, je nach Drucklegung, um in Antiqua gesetzte Eigennamen, Zitate, Fremdwrter oder Angaben von Werken. Am Beispiel von Architectura civilisTraktaten vom Ende des 16. bis zum Beginn des 18. Jahrhunderts wurden die in Antiqua gesetzten Fremdwrter in ihrem Kontext in einem Korpus erfat. Auf dieser Grundlage untersucht die Autorin einerseits den Gebrauch und die Entwicklung des sprachlichen Verfahrens, nmlich die bernahme von Wrtern aus fremden Sprachen, und geht andererseits der Anwendung und dem Verlauf des buchdrucktechnischen Verfahrens dabei nach. Auch die Frage nach dem Zweck der Hervorhebung und damit nach dem Motiv ist Bestandteil der Untersuchung.
