From the preface: This is a book about modeling that is built around examples in wildlife management. Although it uses computers and mathematical ideas, it is not a textbook on applied ecology, computer programming, or biomathematics. This primer explains how to build models and how to apply them to largeanimal examples for African game preserves. A variety of modeling techniques are introduced including deterministic and stochastic simulation, linear programming, and even expert systems. In general, these discussions are well written, thoughtfully organized, and useful for anyone interested in theoretical approaches to biology.

I bought these building models for my son's school project on wildlife management, and he loved them! The details are impressive, and it really helps him understand biological resource management concepts. Highly useful for hands-on learning!

The models are decent quality and great for discussions on biological resource management, but they could include more diversity in species. It covers the basics, but I was hoping for a bit more depth.

Good resource for conservation studies

I was excited to use these models for a workshop, but one of them came with a small dent. They’re still usable, and the material is sturdy overall. Just a bit disappointed with the delivery service.
