In 198687 boatbuilder Barry Thomas and his crew at Mystic Seaport constructed a 20foot catboat after rediscovering the methods used in the famous Crosby boatshops on Cape Cod, ca. 18801935. In this construction guide the author documents the unique Crosby building methods and discusses the importance of preserving and using appropriate technologies from the past.
