El presente estudio busca recabar informacin sobre una muestra de trabajadores poco estudiada en temas de estrs y burnout: los profesionales que trabajan dentro del desarrollo e implementacin de nuevas tecnologas de la informacin (en adelante IT). En los ltimos 20 aos existen cerca de 2500 estudios sobre burnout en profesionales existiendo en 1985 solamente 31 investigaciones orientadas a los profesionales de IT. Por esta razn, se busca generar informacin nueva y actual sobre este sndrome en nuestro pas en los profesionales de IT. El objetivo general del estudio es identificar si dentro de estos profesionales existen niveles de burnout. Como objetivo especfico se busca realizar un estudio descriptivo y explicativo de la muestra para identificar las variables psicosociales de riesgo ms relevantes para el burnout. Las preguntas que justifican el presente estudio son: Existe burnout en los profesionales que trabajan desarrollando nuevas tecnologas? Hay variables demogrficas (edad, gnero, puesto, aos de antigedad, nivel de formacin) que pueden vincularse al burnout? Qu variable psicosociales en la industria del software podran estar quemando al trabajador?
