When Ohiobased Crown Controls was begun in 1945, there was no way to foresee that fifty years later, it would be the leader in the narrowaisle lift truck market, the largest manufacturer of electric materialhandling equipment in the world. How did this happen? In a narrative featuring an unlikely cast of characters, we watch this communitybased company educate itself to make the upwardly mobile journey to market domination.Demonstrated in scenes and anecdotes, the Crown story teaches fundamental entrepreneurial lessons. The economic parables of Crowns formative decisions provide a unique but universal parallel to any young business anywhere.

As much as I wanted to enjoy 'The Story of Crown Equipment Corporation', it felt overly technical for a casual reader like me. There were moments of interest, but I struggled to get through some of the heavier sections. Not bad, but not my cup of tea.

Not quite what I expected
While 'The Story of Crown Equipment Corporation' has some great insights, I was hoping for more on their recent advancements. It felt a bit dated in parts. Still, it’s decent for a history buff or someone interested in business stories.

Great read for industry enthusiasts
I bought this book for my husband who works in logistics, and he loved it! The detail about Crown's equipment innovations is so rich. It’s nice to see a real success story from the industry he’s in. Highly engaging!

Could use some editing
Honestly, 'The Story of Crown Equipment Corporation' has some cool stories, but the writing could've been tighter. Some sections dragged on longer than necessary which made it a bit hard to stay focused. It’s informative, just a bit tedious at times.
