By the Balls is a bowling alley murder mystery set in the fictional town of Testacy City. The story follows the exploits of Ben Drake, a pulpstyle detective with a passion for small cigars and Old GrandDad and a weakness for women in trouble. Drake is employed by the Always Reddy Detective Agency, and his latest assignment is to investigate the bizarre murder of Gentleman Joe Biggs, a wellloved local bowling hero. As he continues to unearth clues in the case, Drake is drawn deeper and deeper into a citywide criminal conspiracy. Designed in the fashion of a 1940s pulp detective novel.

The cover caught my eye, and while 'By the Balls' took a different turn than I anticipated, I enjoyed the unexpected twists. Dashiell Loveless has a unique voice that makes the characters stand out. Would read more from him.

I liked the concept of 'By the Balls', but the pacing was uneven. Some sections dragged on longer than they needed to. Still, the humor and character development kept me engaged enough to finish it. Not my favorite, but worth a read!

I was really excited to read 'By the Balls', but when it arrived, the cover was bent and the pages were crumpled. I was let down by the shipping quality. I hope I can get a replacement soon because the story sounds amazing!

'By the Balls' is a refreshing novel that kept me glued to the pages! The characters felt real, and the plot twists were just right. Dashiell Loveless surely has a talent for storytelling. Highly recommend to anyone who loves a good laugh!
