Die Entwicklung groBer e1ektronischer Scha1tungen erfordert in zunehmendem MaBe komp1exe CADSysteme mit hochentwickelten Werkzeugen. Kritische Prob1eme beim rechnerunterstiitzten Entwurf e1ektronischer Schaltkreise sind die Datenha1tung und der Datentransfer zwischen den verschiedenen an einem Entwurf beteiligten Gruppen. Ein zentra1es Datenbanksystem und Standardformate zum Austausch von Entwurfsdaten liefem wichtige Voraussetzungen fUr die Integration bestehender und in Zukunft zu entwickelnder Werkzeuge. Urn eine breitere Fachoffentlichkeit und Studenten mit dieser Thematik vernaut zu machen, hat das Zentrum fiir Graphische Datenverarbeitung (ZGDV) im Sommersemester 1986 an der Technischen Hochschu1e Darmstadt ein Seminar mit dem Thema "CAD Schnittstellen und Datentransfer/ormate im Elektronikbereich" durchgefiihrt. Die Referenten waren Fach1eute aus Hochschu1e und Industrie, die sich in Forschung und Entwick1ung intensiv mit dieser Thematik beschaftigen. Auf der Grundlage der Vortrage entstand der vorliegende gleichnamige Band in der ZGDVBuchreihe "Beitrage zur Graphischen Datenverarbeitung" mit der Zie1setzung, die fachlichen Inha1te der Veransta1tungen des ZGDV einer breiten Offentlichkeit zur Verfiigung zu stellen. Ich mOchte vor aHem den Referenten und den Autoren dafiir danken, dal3 sie zu der VerOffentlichung beigetragen haben. Mein Dank gilt auch dem ZGDV fiir die Durchfiihrung der Seminarreihe und Herrn Prof. Dr. Encarnacao fUr seine Unterstiitzung.
